Power can be defined as the urge or the motivation to get things done irrespective of the means adopted to get them done. Power is often visualized in a negative aspect in which the means justify the ends. Power is often quoted as being simply put, the ability to get things done the way one wants them done. This often involves getting oneself in a position which might at times cross the threshold of ethical considerations. Within organizations, power distribution is frequently obvious.
